Read our guide below on our recommendations on how to care for your tea and scent tools.
- Chawan (matcha bowl): Recommended to gently hand wash with warm water, avoiding soap or harsh cleaning agents. After washing, ensure the bowl is completely dry before storing it.
- Natsume (tea caddy): Recommended to clean with a soft cloth. Where needed gently wash with lukewarm water but avoid soap and scrub. Do not use in microwave or oven, and avoid storing in refrigerator or place with direct sunlight.
- Chasen (whisk): When using for the first time, soak the tip in lukewarm water for about 5 minutes to make it last longer. Before using each time, soak in warm water (not boiling). When making tea, whisk gently, avoiding harsh motions. After use, whisk in bowl of water, and dry it well in a well-ventilated place.
- Other bamboo tea tools: Wipe with soft cloth. Avoid washing with water.
- Incense holders: Gently wipe with a soft, damp cloth, and leave to dry.
