Our mission
We curate rituals inspired by traditions to invite moments of pause and presence in the everyday life.
As practitioners of Chadō (茶道, the Way of Tea), we draw from our study of time-honored practices, where intricate tools, movements, and expressions come together in a meditative performance. We reimagine the spirit of these traditions in a way that feels accessible and relevant to modern life.
The rituals we offer in our tea and scent ritual collections are simpler in form, yet they preserve the essence and beauty of the traditional practice. Guided by the philosophy of wabi-sabi—finding beauty in simplicity and transcience—we have handpicked every element with care, as each ritual is a moment that will not be repeated, and deserves to be honored and celebrated.
An ode to rituals, old and new.

Our story
Ode Ritual was founded in Kyoto by Min and friends. Here is Min’s story, in her own words.
For much of my life, I lived in constant motion—building a successful career in top global companies, traveling the world, always chasing the next milestone. From the outside, it was a life many might aspire to. But inside, I often felt disconnected—from myself, and from the small things that once brought me joy.
One autumn while in between jobs, I spent a few quiet months in Kyoto. Away from the rush, I settled into a slower rhythm. I jogged along the Kamogawa River each morning, and on weekends, I sat at a local teahouse, enjoying warm matcha with a book. They were simple routines, yet over time, I came to see that they were in fact, rituals—intentional, grounding acts that gave stillness and presence.
Several years later, I left my corporate path and moved to Kyoto, immersing myself in Chadō and ceramics. These practices, and the quiet beauty of the city, became the inspiration for Ode Ritual. Starting Ode Ritual has been a leap of faith, but it’s brought me back to what truly matters.
