How long will it take to receive my order?
Most orders are fulfilled within 3-5 business days after confirmation. After dispatching, shipping times vary by destination. We ship most orders using express shipping, and delivery usually takes 3-7 business days for most countries. However, in some cases, there may be delays at the customs of the destination country. For import into the US, we expect to experience delays for some time with the cancellation of the de minimis policy starting Aug 29, 2025.

Payment, Taxes, Customs
How are duties and taxes handled?
How are duties and taxes handled?
As our products are shipped from Kyoto, Japan, they may be subject to taxes and custom fees in the country of delivery. These costs are the customers' responsibility. Please make sure to check carefully before placing your order.
While not exhaustive, the following can serve as a guide (updated: Aug 27, 2025):
— United States: For shipments arriving on or after Aug 29, tariff will apply to all shipments regardless of value, due to the cancellation of $800 de minimis policy. For shipments from Japan, the applicable tariff is expected to be 15%, and there would be other relevant custom handling fees. While we welcome orders from our customers in US, currently we are only able to send by DDU (Deliver Duty Unpaid), which means that any custom tax and custom handling fees will be billed to you by our shipping carrier. We are currently exploring feasible options, and will share any updates on this page.
— European Union:
- For orders with total value less than €150 euros (excl. shipping fees): VAT is chargeable on the items imported as well as the shipping fees. As Ode Ritual is registered in the Import One-Stop Shop (IOSS), VAT is directly added upon checkout. Ode Ritual pays VAT directly to the authorities, so you will not need to bear any additional fees. If you receive a payment request from the shipping carrier, please contact us at contact@oderitual.com. Please note: as IOSS is for purchases made by individuals, do not include a company name in the delivery or billing address, otherwise your shipment may be considered as commercial purchase and you may be subject to custom duties.
- For orders with total value €150 euros or more (excl. shipping fees): custom duties and handling fees (from the shipping carrier) will apply, in addition to VAT. For such orders, IOSS cannot be used, so VAT and custom duties will not be directly added upon checkout. Instead, you are responsible for paying any applicable VAT, duties, and handling fees to the shipping carrier. These fees will be invoiced to you by the shipping carrier either on receipt of your parcel, or several days after delivery, and are compulsory.
— Singapore: Orders with total value less than SGD 400 (incl. shipping fees) are typically not subject to GST.
— Japan: All prices are displayed tax included. No other tax or fees are incurred for domestic orders.
— Canada: Orders above 20 CAD are subject to applicable taxes and duties.
