This handcrafted Katakuchi Chawan is made by artisans in Kusatsu, Shiga province, Japan, using a traditional three-layer glazing technique. The iron-rich clay base gently surfaces through a layer of white slip, creating a softly crackled, cream-toned finish, sealed with a smooth, transparent glaze.
