About this matcha

This matcha is made from first-harvest Tencha tea leaves grown in Uji, Kyoto — renowned for producing the highest grade of matcha in Japan. The leaves are shade grown for a month before the youngest and greenest first flush leaves are harvested by hand. After harvest, the leaves are steamed, dried, de-stemmed and slowly ground on a traditional stone mill. This careful process preserves the tea’s vibrant color, rich flavor, and full nutritional value — offering a smooth, umami-rich cup.
