About this sencha

This sencha is made by handpicking only the finest first-flush leaves from Izumo tea fields. Izumo, in Shimane prefecture, receives abundant sunshine that produces vivid green tea leaves, but only grows limited quantity of tea leaves each year. Harvested fresh tea leaves then undergo a special quick-steam method to retain the vivid green colour, and are rolled and dried, resulting in a bright, golden-yellow infusion.
