Craft

The matcha whisking tools are handcrafted in Anji, China, a region famous for bamboo, by senior artisans using techinique passed on by Japanese craftsmen.

Usage notes

• Chasen (whisk): When using for the first time, soak the tip in lukewarm water for about 5 minutes to make it last longer. Before using each time, soak in warm water (not boiling). When making tea, whisk gently, avoiding harsh motions. After use, whisk in bowl of water, and dry it well in a well-ventilated place.
• Chashaku (scoop) and Chafurui (sieve): Wipe with soft cloth. Avoid washing with water.
