The incense holder is handcrafted in Shigaraki, Japan, renowned as one of Japan’s Six Ancient Kilns. The region, home to Lake Biwa, provides clay rich in feldspar, giving rise to pottery with distinctive warm, earthy textures. The incense holder embodies the wabi-sabi aesthetics of Shigaraki ware, celebrating simplicity, imperfection, and the quiet beauty of organic form.

Usage & precautions

• Recommended to wipe the incense holder with a damp cloth or wash gently by hand. Dry thoroughly before storing.
• As each incense holder is handmade, there may be variations in colour, size and shape.
• Due to high-temperature firing in the kiln, natural characteristics like glaze flow may occur.
